Terror suspects' $1m welfare gift

AUSTRALIA'S 22 terror suspects and their families are receiving more than $1 million a year in taxpayer-funded welfare and Legal Aid.

And, under Centrelink rules, the accused men's families have had their social security payments increased by as much as $1700 a year since their fathers and husbands were locked up under counter-terror laws.

An investigation has uncovered generous welfare payments to the families of men charged with plotting terror attacks in Australia.

Legal Aid services have boosted the total bill for taxpayers to more than $1 million.

Among 13 Melbourne men charged with belonging to a terrorist organisation was Abdul Nacer Benbrika - leader of a radical group of Islamists. Mr Benbrika has a Lebanese-born wife, Rakia Abdullah, and seven children.

Under Centrelink rules, she is entitled to nearly $50,000 a year in welfare benefits.

Among nine Sydney suspects charged with conspiracy to carry out a terrorist attack was 40-year-old engineer Mohamed Ali Elomar. Mr Elomar has five children, and his wife is now entitled to about $38,000 a year in welfare payments.

The maximum parenting payment rises from $377.50 a fortnight to $444.20 when a spouse is jailed, a Centrelink spokeswoman said.

And these figures do not include the $1000+ PER WEEK it costs the community to keep each of the bastards inside.

NOW you know why 'refugees' travel from the ME with passports etc, transit through at least TWO muslim countries to get on a leaky illegal immigrants boat to get to Infidel Australia, and ditch the ID on the way....

I think there needs to be an agreement with countries where these refugees are escaping. If they are deemed refugees then the welfare payments are justified.

If they are economic refugees trying to "jump the queue" then the countries form where they come should be billed for the expenses.
