5.1 sound----how do i make it work?

here's my setup---i have a SB audigy gamer running through Klipsch 5.1 speakers. i downloaded the latest beta windoze media player 9, which is supposed to support 5.1 surround. i set everything up right in control panel, in WMP, and in the audigy control panel. i still get no surround sound. i have windvd, but i don't have the audio pack so that's out of the question for now.


anyone have a similar setup that can help me? or know of a free dvd player that has 5.1 capability?

Wish I could help but I am sound setup challenged. My brother helped me with mine. :)

FreeDVD player: No, all the free ones require a pay one to work because it needs the decoder. If you want free with decoder you can only do that in Linux as far as I know. But if you want 5.1 your going to have to shell out the dough for the audio package, or go through "other" channels...
