As of last night's close, oil is now over $60 a barrel. This continues a year long uptrend, on concerns there is no excess supply to buffer potential output disruptions.

If you are wondering why the Dow tanked yesterday, now you know. Expect gas prices to be around 3 per gallon around November.

Shit. Wages haven't even begun to match the extra costs of fuel. What do you want to bet they don't when fuel hits $3 bucks a gallon, too. **sigh**

I remember way back in the late 80's that it was not "monetarily beneficial" for me to go out and work for less than 8 dollars per hour, given the cost of "running the home" in my absence. Now, today, I'd say that number should be about $13.00 (and that's a pitifully low estimate) - $520 gross per week, (which means you bring home about 400. And I'm going to spend $45 on gas...

Thank god that by November I won't be driving a car, I guess...

Which means automakers are going to continue to get hit by not selling nearly as many highly profitable trucks and SUV's.

My wife was going to get an SUV, but now with these gas prices she's looking back at the sedans again.

In my experience, about 3 months.
If you add 'Sta-Bil' (or some other brand stabilizer) to it (@2oz/5gal), it'll last about a year.

Hey, you asked! ;)

Glaad I Got rid of my last car 10 years ago.I'm sure everybody appreciates that us Los Angelenos are imprisoned in our cars, can't participate without one. Not having a car in Los Angeles is equivalent to being dead...

Toyota and Ford are both making SUV's in hybrids. :)

Ya, the wife looked at the Lexus RX330H. It's pretty nice but we both want to wait a while to see what the true costs of repairing these hybrids is.
