I went to see this movie last night, and I was blown away. Cheadle's performance was outstanding. I am going to say it was very powerful, and the images disturbing, and also the entire situation with the UN was ridiculous. The beurocracy of it was just pathetic, and you can see how frustrated the canadian UN commander is with it at many points. I apologize as I am not much a writer/reviewer nor critic, but I will say that if you see any movie this year, go see this. However I would make sure to leave the kids home.

I've read other good reports about Hotel Rwanda. Sounds like a better movie than The Aviator then. Maybe if there was a 2 hour version it would have been easier to sit through.

My bad for not following it up (http://globalaffairs.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29997&highlight=hotel+rwanda). We can't know how factual it is, but no one involved is decrying it...as of yet. We do see the same UN efficacy in the Tsunami ravaged parts of the world. Clinton didn't move until too late on Rwanda, Bush did move on the Tsunami, and no one is moving on Darfur...except the UN, which is moving backwards by proclaiming that 'hey, there's no genocide here'.

Methinks about the only people who would seriously raise a stink about the demise of the UN would be the family members and bribers of various fascist countries and oligarchs who can only survive via the largesse of funded UN corruption.

FWIW <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rwandan_Genocide">here</a> is the Wikipedia article on the Rwanadan Genocide. Also a Google search turns up <a href="http://www.immortalchaplains.org/Prize/Ceremony2000/Rusesabagina/rusesabagina.htm">this</a> and <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/aboutradio4/diary/18.shtml">this</a> article on the subject amongst others. I am kind of disappointed as I just found out that he was at Yale Law School at a free event open to the public yesterday, but if anyone lives near Oakland he'll <a href="http://www.manhunt.com/news/stories/1108144373.html">be at an event there</a>.
