A small minority in a largely Christian section of India has been claiming for some time that they are desended from one of the 10 lost tribes of Israel. This has created problems with many others, not the least of which is the nation of Israel, which promises the right of return to all Jews. They number about 5,000 currently. I'm curious if any of our Jewish members have heard of them, and if so what are their thoughts?

There is also the Tasaday tribe in the Philippines that claim that they are one of the lost tribes. There was an excellent show on PBS a couple of years ago about this. I'll see if I can find a link.

I saw a PBS show on the Mizos yesterday and that's what spurred my interest.
