Would you mind not linking to LGF? It's an anti-Arab hate site.

LGF gets linked here once or twice a week. I personally don't lurk or post there but many here do.

OT: Thread split?

On topic: While LGF is definitely right wing with the commentators, I hardly think that the entire site or the site owner can be dubbed and labeled "anti-Arab hate site".

If that's the case, Daily Kos is anti-American hate site, and certainly Democratic Underground is as well.

And while you are appealing not to use the links by other members, I don't think it's appropriate, not because of rudeness or anything on the character, but because we are all intelligent enough to decipher linked issues on the what the individual stories mean. If they are, in fact, anti-Arab, we will certainly deduce it as such.

Well, it's worthy of one now that you've chimed in ;)

Ah, don't worry about it. I don't want to start a whole discussion, but I do believe a lot of stuff they post is designed to portray Islam in the worst possible light. The commenters there don't speak for LGF's owner, but the comment section contains some of the worst instances of anti-Arab hatred I've read. Those unfamiliar with LGF's audience should take this quiz (http://www.drmenlo.com/lgfquiz/). We are talking about people who refer to Palestinian children as "bombs still growing" and protester Rachel Corrie, who was run over by an Israeli bulldozer (I am not saying she was right), as "flat bitch." Just be wary of what you read there.

As with any site where people freely comment, there will be those who comment with bias. LGF is an absolutely oncontrolled environment, and we're all aware of that. There are items of value on that site, however, and we won't dictate to membership what sites may be linked. But as you just did, proving bias of a site such as LGF is an absolute perogative of our membership. Enjoy ripping them!

People got panties in a bunch because their posts were "editted". Mods stopped doing that a long time ago. But hey, you are always on top of things. :P

I love it on top. Control issues, I believe.

Now, nice try, getting off the issue. What thread was it split from?

The one about children being taught in schools? Something about ISM and ANSWER using school property.

Ahhhhh. The link to the pictures of people misbehaving. Pretty ugly behavior.

OK--back to the (splitted) thread!

I have to agree with ethics and copzilla that (although I can't stand LGF), it's important to let members link pretty freely. Sometimes I find out about sites that are out there on the web when I wouldn't otherwise encounter them. Even if they're crap, I'm glad when members here point them out, because it widens my circle of information.
