To all of you fans out there, at last weekend's BEA, ICv2 learned that Andrews McMeel is planning to release a three-hardcover slipcased complete collection of the popular Calvin & Hobbes comic strips in 2005. This set will be similar to this year's two-hardcover slipcased Far Side collection which sold out very quickly, despite being approximately $130. Retail price is expected to be $150.

Whatever happened to Calvina nd Hobbes? I went away on vacation for 3 weeks to the UK one year, came back and they were no more.

He stopped doing them.

To me, they were the best. Nothing came close and not even Far Side.

Second only to Peanuts in terms of originality and sheer genius. I cannot take the crown from the late Schulz. Calvin wouldnt have transmogrified anything were it not for Schulz.

That said - Calvin and Hobbes is solidly entrenched at #2 in my book, and Bloom County at number 3.

I remember almost killing myself while reading one of his books in bed. Laughed so much I couldn't breath.

I basically grew up with them, the philosophy, the facial expressions, it was just plain awesome.

Much to Andrea's dismay, I frequently use many of Calvin's dad's "explanations" about various things (the sun moves east to west due to solar wind, for example) on my girls.

They always seem to know I'm kidding, though :)

I am a HUGE Peanuts fan. They are the best IMO. I got the 1st volume of the Complete Peanuts. I plan to collect them all.......Silly Charlie Brown :)

Calvin and Hobbes is the best......second to only Bloom County. I will definitely be purchasing that.

Anyone reading Opus? They stopped running it in my local newspaper.

Nope. Loved the old Bloom County but haven't read Opus yet.
