View Full Version : Bizarre -- Wendy's strip searches employees

Just another one of those things that proves the truth is stranger than fiction.
Yesterday, several local Wendy's (here in MA) received a phone call from an individual indentifying himself as a law enforcement officer, who ordered the supervisors on duty to strip search employees. He alledged there were suspicions of employee theft.
So what did the supervisors do? Well, they strip searched the employees, of course. Apparently they made one young chap (24 or so) stand on a chair spread eagled while they did a <i>full</i> search. I guess the poor kid was pretty traumatized.
It was, of course, a prank. It's funny enough to go into Ricks, but serious enough I think to be discussed here.
What should happen to the supervisors?

Only after publicly strip-searching them and shoving their heads where the sun don't shine. Incredible imbecility.
I wondeer if any one of them thought that it might be sensible to report the officers" request to someone higher uop at police headquarters.
Omg, fire them of course. You want someone that gullible to be running your stores? Although...this is Wendy's. I wonder how old the managers were...

Ex managers. Their jobs are history. “They thought they were responding to direct orders by the police” They have no brain, and they abused people. Job go by by.
Didn't this also happen at a Pizza Hut somewhere in the south a couple of years ago?

Well, while the whole thing IS pretty funny... it just stands as yet more reason that the average IQ is, uh, average.

There might be some geniuses flipping burgers at Wendy's (I have known several very intelligent people content with the most menial of jobs), but let's go with the percentages and assume that none of the victims of this scam were their high schools' valedictorians. In all likelihood it wasn't Einstein who answered the phone, and it wasn't Heisenberg who agreed to be strip-searched.

It's not just the managers here... Can you imagine actually submitting to a strip search because your manager told you that you had to? Lessons learned all the way around here, I hope.

I have known several very intelligent people content with the most menial of jobsThese people generally smoke a hell of a lot of dope. What’s worse is when they tell you they are going on a three week car trip to see the old west, starting at the Grand Canyon. You just stand there and think to yourself “I’ve never seen the Grand Canyon”

Yeah, I've known a couple of those. :) Some of the smart ones I have known, whether cannabis connosieurs or not, were voracious readers. They were content to have a low-paying, blue collar job that gave them lots of opportunity to go hide somewhere and read. I doubt that a job at Wendy's provides that opportunity.

I've got CopZ and Sarge on the phone and they said all of the ladies of GA are to report to Leon's place to be stripped searched...
