...is that when you have lots of them in your government, you wind up with assbrain proposals like this gem. (http://www.norwaypost.no/content.asp?folder_id=1&cluster_id=24629)

Now if these fools want to pay for the entire world's immunizations of poor children, have at it. But that's a lot of Kipper snacks they have to sell to fund it. I'm sure the rest of the world would let them indulge their guilt at the expense of their citizen's labors.

These health programs are important, and when the money actually gets to the health care folks doing the work, are quite effective. That's a lot of money to ask one small country to pay though.

Well, the guy IS in Norway, after all.

I don't think we have too many of his kind in our government...likely the capitalists have bought them all off. However, if I follow that line of reasoning off the cliff, then us warmongers would have killed off the pacifists, and that certainly hasn't happened yet.

Shouldn't socialism have gone the way of the Dodo, with the fall of the Berlin Wall and all? I'm all in favor of government intervention to fight poverty, especially child poverty, but this has to be done with the acceptance that capitalism is the only sustainable form of economics.
