Student politicians at Bir Zeit University no longer stump on simply better library services and cheaper lunches. They also campaign on which party claims to have killed more Israelis. "For the Islamist bloc, it is 135," says senior Rami Barghouti, a leader of the student bloc formed by militant Palestinian factions Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Barghouti says that figure, which is all but impossible to confirm, is the number of Israelis who have been killed by Bir Zeit students associated with Hamas.

This is definately not a good sign (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-0401310120jan31,1,2449826.story?coll=chi-news-hed)

How a college can allow such a thing is beyond me. I know, I know, look at where they are, but still. Campaigning based on how many people your party has killed and how many "martyrs" you have produced? WTF. Why are these people not being taught such a thing is completely inappropriate and martyr is the wrong M word..it's Murderer? And when oh when is everyone going to stop using the incorrect term of suicide bomber. Suicide is when you kill only yourself, not when you take others with you.

This is really depressing.

Bir Zeit University has always been one of the strongholds of the Palestinian terror groups. Both in teaching and in organizing. Personally I find your amazement a little weird... :\

I don't think I'm amazed... I'm disgusted and discouraged.

I also don't know about universities there so I'm also ignorant. :)

Here's another offering, this time from the Palestinian An-Najah University. These murals are proudly displayed in the 'Art Department'. They are depictions of the aftermath of a suicide bombing in the Israeli Sbarro Pizza Restaurant.

I'm such an ignoramus. I actually had hope in this road map to peace thing.
You can't deal with a mentality such as that.

Nah. You are no ignoramus. If you were would understand what is going on. These are schools for ignoramuses, future leaders of the Arab world -- if they don't kill themselves first. (We should be so lucky.)

Sure you can deal with that mentality. Kill them.

Where are all the artsy fartsy people (not this forum's membership) to let us know that this is ok and it's great to have something like this so we can start a :friggin: dialogue?
