It is well known that women sometimes get a raw deal in court due to the piggishness of some judges. Eecently a judge in upstate NY overstepped the bounds of good taste and sense -- as well as legality. And what do you know -- he is a judge no more.

Hamley was accused of telling a victim of domestic violence that such cases are ``dragged out'' and a ``waste of the court's time.'' He also allegedly told a state trooper that most women enjoy being abused and they asked to get ``smacked around,'' the commission said.

Was this guy a lawyer? The article states he was a PT judge getting paid 4500 a year for his judgeship, and that he runs an export business.

Sounded more like some country bumkin who got to be the town's pt judge. Jesus.

About two years ago here in South Australia, a judge in a similar type of case, in his summing up, stated that husbands were justifed to occasionally use force on their wives if they refused sex. As you can imagine it caused an uproar and as I recall he retired shortly after or was forced to lkeave the bench permanently. The latter I suspect.
