The American Film Institute(AFI) has released its list (http://reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=filmNews&storyID=2874470)of the "Top 100 Heros &
Villians" in cinematic history.

Topping the two lists of 50 are Gregory Peck's Atticus Finch, and Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal Lecter in their respective categories. The selections were made by 1,500 jurors, which represented a cross-section of Hollywood-types, film critics and college professors. The criteria that they were given to base their selections on were: heroes should be defined by "a sense of morality, courage and purpose", while villains were judged by their "wickedness of mind, selfishness of character and will to power". As is protocol for these sorts of things, the list will be highlighted in a three-hour, CBS television special next Tuesday in what promises to be a truly lackluster exercise in network filler programming.:)

What would be your selection based on the highlited criteria?

Top Heroes

1) Atticus Finch no doubt in my mind

2)Alvin York

3)Obi-Wan-Kenobi

4)Ghandi

5)Will Kane

Notice they showed very little weakness in their overall morals but a sensitivity that makes them just like you and I.

Top Villians

1)Wicked Witch of the West what was good about her?

2)Nurse Rached

3)the Queen in Snow White

4)Annie Wilkes in Misery

Mostly just mean, not because they were victims of some malady.
