It has been said that we live in a world with no heroes. The youth of today model themselves after flashy athletes and emulate actors of questionable integrity. McDonalds, being the most recognised symbol in the world today. Huge cooperations like Nike and Reebok, spending enormous money, on billboard recognition, and signs that say "spend, spend, spend". As the media exploit rumours and investigative reporting delves into the abyss of people's personal lives, few women and men in leadership positions are left standing as respectable role models.

The role models of today are few and far between.

Hilary Clinton, Madonna, David Beckham, Eminem, Micheal Jackson..............need i go on.

But to look at great souls like Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela and Alexander Solzhenitsyn and to read their stories of selfless courage.................now this is inspiration.

ah! Steve Biko, and the "power of one". *nods*

Courages stories of the endurance of the human spirit. Another one, that comes to mind is Elie Wiesel. Anyone heard of him? Must have. He endured the concentration camps of Auschitwz (sp?) and went onto lecture about the human spirit. Questioning the christians "shut door policy" on "The Event" (the Holocaust).
