507th MT Company is one company/unit out of 6 that makes up the 5-52 ADA Battalion out of Ft. Bliss TX. They provide higher maintenance on all of 5-52 ADA's weapons, vehicles and other equipment. They have weapons, but only small ones such as M16A2's, pistols and a handful if that of Semi-assult weapons. They arent a fighting unit, they fix things.

I was part of 5-52 ADA for 3 1/2 years, as my husband was. Went to Saudi Arabia with the unit back in late 97 to early 98. My friends are still in 5-52 ADA, and some are in the 507tht
I just learned of what happened to the 507th about an hour ago. I knew that soldiers had been caputured, some killed, and plastered on tv, but I wasnt sure of any information on them. Now I know that these are those of the 507th. This sucks big time. It sucks that they are anyone, but this has hit me a lot harder since these are people I have served with. I am so praying that my friends are ok. I am praying for those captured- I hope they will make it out ok, I am not sure if any of them are my friends- I havent seen the video or pictures yet and I really don't want to

It just pisses me off that they were ambushed when they made a wrong turn- they mostly likely werent carryng many weapons and a lot of ammo. I pray for the families of the victims.

"On Track" 5-52!

Thanks for the background information. According to some sources that's the bodies of the soldiers there you saw. I am surprised they didn't kill all of them, but probably needed some propaganda fodder.

That information really hits home when there is a personal connection whether it be a unit or individual.
I too have friends fighting over there.
My prayers are with you.

Sydney, one positive note - since they have now been paraded to the media, it would be harder to explain for the Iraqi's if anything further negative were to happen to those left. Hopefully that's a big enough incentive to kept them safe for now.

Sydney, we can only hope that the Iraqis realize that they have more to gain by keeping the POWs safe. Anything negative will bring the utmost dire consequences on those responsible. I will not say I know how you feel for I cannot. Just know that I support with all my heart those who serve/have served and may this be completed soon.

I hope they stay safe as well, resist, not give in to the Iraqi's and look for chances to escape.

I also hope we attempt a rescue, instead of let the Iraqi's hold onto them for public display and ridicule.

Never leave a man behind!!!!
