Thousands of Palestinians call to Saddam: "Chemical Bomb Tel Aviv"

Tens of thousands of Palestinians demonstrated today (Friday) in most of the
cities of the West Bank and Gaza Strip in protest of the American attack on
Iraq.

The demonstrations, that were planned since the attack to take place after
Friday prayers, featured Iraqi flags, pictures of Saddam Hussein and calls
against the Arab states, the US and Israel.

Pictures of Bin Laden were carried at some of the demonstrations. The
Palestinian protesters had sharp words for the Arab leaders, particularly
the president of Egypt, king of Jordan, emir of Kuwait, king of Bahrain, and
ruler of Qatar, calling them "dogs and traitors".

The protesters said that Saddam shouldn't resign "instead those defeatist
Arab leaders who called for his resignation should themselves". American
flags were burned and the protestors called for Saddam to bomb Tel Aviv with
chemical weapons.

Officials from the Palestinian Authority were not seen participating in the
protests in Gaza but also no effort was made to remove pictures of Bin
Laden, as Palestinian police did at protests held immediately after
September 11.

Boy, those Palestinians sure know how to make themselves popular with other Arab leaders.

In a way, I feel bad for them - they're trying desperately to get attention.

I guess negative attention is better than no attention.

I feel sorry for teh Palestinian people. I do not sympathize at all with their "leaders" -- who are responsible for these demonstrations. They have led the people over a cliff over and over and over. Has not helped their cause.

Meanwhile in Israel:
"Avraham was slated to check into the Jerusalem Gold Hotel, which changed its name to the George W. Bush Hotel to demonstrate solidarity with the president. A huge banner was placed outside."

And people wonder why the US supports the people we support.

Do you think so, really?

Arafat is irrelevant. One thing about the Arabs in general and the Palestinians leaders specifically---they never miss a chance to miss a chance.

Not better as in quality - but it does get people to talk about them and that talk will lead to further discussion of what's going on with them.

Misu is right. There is an old public relations saying 'Love me, hate me, but for god's sake, don't ignore me'. To stay in the public eye, you have to keep doing things that will get attention whether they be positive or negative acts.
